Sponsorship Rules

These Sponsorship Rules explain the placements CompileRoad sells, the fixed monthly model, creative requirements, approval, delivery, renewals, cancellations, and refunds.

  • Fixed monthly price. The displayed monthly price buys the chosen placement. Rank and bidding do not exist.

  • No mid-month outbid. Once your paid month starts, a higher offer cannot replace you before that month ends.

  • Human approval. Every name, logo, tagline, colour, and destination is reviewed before it appears.

  • The game stays neutral. Sponsors never change a challenge, reward, player result, or World Rank position.

1. THE MODEL

CompileRoad is a coding journey, not a paid leaderboard. Sponsors pay a published monthly price to support the road and appear in a clearly labelled placement. Paying more does not create a higher sponsor rank, push another sponsor down, or affect player progress.

2. THE PLACEMENTS

Fixed sponsor boards

The road has six named fixed boards: top left, top centre, top right, bottom left, bottom centre, and bottom right. An open board shows its current price. Fixed boards stay in the purchased position during the paid month and appear wherever that sponsor area is shown, including the road sky and coding view.

Moving air banners

Air banners are cheaper because they move through a shared flight lane instead of staying in one fixed position. They rotate past the player and do not promise continuous screen time or a particular order inside the lane. Availability and price are shown when an air placement is offered.

3. MONTHLY PROTECTION

A confirmed placement is locked for its paid month. Another company cannot remove you by offering more money during that period. We may offer an available future month to another sponsor, but we will not shorten a month you already paid for.

A placement is not category-exclusive unless we agree to exclusivity in writing. More than one developer tool, education company, or hiring company may sponsor different placements at the same time.

4. WHAT YOU PROVIDE

We may ask for your display name, logo, short tagline, brand colours, destination URL, and a working contact. You must own that material or have permission to use it. Keep the tagline short, accurate, and readable at pixel-art size.

We may crop, resize, compress, or reformat creative so it fits the purchased placement. We will not materially rewrite a claim without your approval.

5. WHAT WE ACCEPT

CompileRoad currently accepts sponsors in developer tools, education, and hiring. The sponsor must own or be authorised to represent the promoted product, service, or company. The destination must identify its operator and provide any company, contact, privacy, or consumer information required by applicable law.

6. WHAT WE REJECT

We do not accept creative or destinations that are:

  • illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, or impersonating another brand;
  • malware, phishing, credential theft, spam, or a disguised destination;
  • pornographic, sexually explicit, hateful, violent, or exploitative;
  • counterfeit or infringing copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights;
  • based on guaranteed jobs, income, results, or other claims that cannot be supported;
  • for regulated products or services without every required licence and disclosure; or
  • otherwise unsafe or unsuitable for a learning game that may be used by teenagers.

7. PRIVACY AND TRACKING

Sponsor placements are contextual. CompileRoad does not run sponsor JavaScript, pixels, cookies, fingerprinting, or behavioural targeting. Sponsors do not receive player names, code, progress, or individual activity from us.

An approved placement may send a visitor to the sponsor’s destination. That destination has its own privacy practices, which the sponsor must disclose and operate lawfully.

8. WHAT PAYMENT BUYS

Payment buys the approved placement for the confirmed period. It does not guarantee a number of views, clicks, applications, customers, sales, search-engine results, or revenue. It does not buy an endorsement, editorial coverage, access to players, or influence over game content.

9. PAYMENT AND RENEWAL

Checkout is processed by Polar in US dollars. Polar collects payment and billing details; CompileRoad does not receive full card numbers. Taxes, renewal status, and cancellation options are shown at checkout or in the receipt. If a purchase renews, cancellation stops a future renewal and does not end the month already paid for.

Completing payment means you accept these Rules, the Terms & Conditions, and the Privacy Policy.

10. AFTER PAYMENT

  1. Polar confirms the payment and sends a receipt.
  2. The selected inventory is reserved.
  3. We collect and review the creative and destination.
  4. Approved creative is prepared for the game and published.

A receipt does not mean unreviewed creative is live. We normally aim to complete review on the next working day, but this is a target rather than a guarantee.

11. REMOVAL, CANCELLATION, AND REFUNDS

We may ask for changes, pause, or remove a placement that breaks these Rules, violates law, creates a security risk, or attracts a credible rights complaint. Removal caused by the sponsor’s breach does not create a refund except where law requires one.

A full refund may be requested before creative work begins or the placement goes live, whichever occurs first. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, a paid month is non-refundable after an approved placement starts. If CompileRoad cannot provide a material part of the purchased period for reasons within our control, we may extend the placement or refund the affected unused period. Being unhappy with traffic or results is not non-delivery. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy for full details.
